Abstract
The adoption of a Pick to Voice system in the beverage warehouse represents a
comprehensive solution to optimize picking processes, providing a number of
significant benefits. These include reducing lead times, improving order picking
accuracy, and ensuring up-to-date and consistent inventory management. In
addition, this system facilitates effective communication between the different
areas involved, fostering an organized and favorable work environment.
The main objective of this implementation is to increase customer satisfaction by
reducing errors and maximizing overall efficiency. By optimizing delivery times, it
seeks to offer a faster and more reliable service, which can have a positive impact
on customer satisfaction. In addition to the benefits for customers, it promotes
collaboration and teamwork by establishing effective communication between the
areas involved in the picking process. This can lead to greater efficiency and
productivity, as coordination is facilitated, and misunderstandings or
miscommunications are avoided.
The implementation of the Pick to Voice system requires a total investment of
$32,500.00, which includes various components such as the Pick to Voice system,
shelving, communication systems, and management tools. There are no plans to
hire additional personnel, as the company is relying on the existing equipment.
From a financial point of view, an IRR of 78.63%, an NPV of $61,397.63 and a
payback period of 1 year and 9 months are projected, indicating that the benefits
will exceed the costs, supporting the feasibility of implementing the Pick to Voice
system.
